I love that this project serves to make us mindful of the kindness that we receive and our opportunities to share kindness with others. We met a young man who was delivering furniture to our home. He expressed an interest and appreciation for some of the furniture that we made for our home. He also shared that he was an aspiring artist with an interest in making pieces with hardwood and epoxy. I was in the process of making some furniture for a remodel that we’re engaged in.Many of the cutoff pieces have potential for the work that he aspires to. We invited him to come back after I was done with fabrication. Yesterday he came and selected several pieces to use in his work. We planed and cut these to his specifications. While he was working here we found out that he and his girlfriend are getting married in May and that they are trying hard to put together a functional household, essentially starting with nothing. We’re putting our house back together after an extensive addition and renovation project. As we put things back together we realized that we have entirely too many things . We’ve invited this couple back in a few weeks. In honor of Alex we’re going to share as much as possible to help get this young couple established.
